Mrs. Beach took her Anatomy and Physiology class on a field trip to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA to observe a live open heart surgery on April 30, 2024.  Allegheny General Hospital has an Open Heart Surgery Observation Program where students can witness a live open heart surgery and are educated by the program coordinator on the procedure that is being conducted, on the medical professionals in the operating room including the role they play, and the amount of schooling each professional has, and on all the machines and devices that are being used for the surgery.

The Proposed FY 2024-2025 General Operating Budget of the Juniata Valley School District is on display for public review. The proposed budget can be reviewed at the District’s Administration Office, 7775 Juniata Valley Pike, Alexandria, PA., from 9:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The proposed budget can also be reviewed HERE. The adoption of the proposed budget will occur on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the monthly meeting of the Juniata Valley School Board.

Camp Blue Diamond is located just outside of Petersburg, PA. They offer part and full-week sessions for campers ages 5

A new program called Summer EBT, or “SUN Bucks,” has been authorized by a bipartisan U.S. Congress to provide food dollars to low-income families with school-aged children over the summer months. The program is proven to reduce food insecurity and improve children's nutrition during summer break. Governor Shapiro’s administration announced that the Commonwealth would participate in this program beginning in the summer of 2024. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees the program, and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) coordinates the benefit issuance in Pennsylvania.

Students at Juniata Valley will be participating in the Spring administration of the Keystone exams focusing on the areas of Algebra I, Biology, and Literature. The testing window for the Keystone exam is May 13, 2024, through May 24, 2024.
